This is my digital proposal for the YWCA Women of Influence Award. It shows a multifaceted star superimposed over the official WoI logo, then made semi-transparent creating multiple areas of color.
For the ultimate Time Lapse Video Fanatic, I have the 15 minute video version HERE.
There are at least three layers of paint suspended between layers of Liquitex Pouring Medium. This material is traditionally used to allow paint to be poured across a surface, but I really enjoy using it more like a thinly applied resin. There is no mixing or mess like a traditional resin, but you are limited by the thickness. If you apply the Pouring Medium too thickly, it can cloud in areas and can be susceptible to denting. But when applied in thin layers, it creates a crisp glossy surface that appears to encapsulate the paint.
The final paintings were presented in a white box with the signature YWCA pop of orange. I created seven awards with this beautiful orange background and two honoree awards with the plain wood with Interference Blue wisps.
It was such an honor to be asked to create these awards and be able to attend the ceremony! Check out your local YWCA and see what amazing programs they have for women in your community! YWCA DAYTON
