Sunny C Room

The Sunny C room bedroom is dedicated to my sis, Ellie's Mom, who's favorite color is yellow.

I thought these glasses I found looked adorable in the room! Gotta get them to Ellie!

I was able to keep the flower wallpapered accent wall in this room by sealing it with gloss medium. I slightly altered the other walls by painting them a more muted shade of yellow ochre and also sealing them. This is the one room with the original carpet and it is in pretty nice shape, so I am going to keep it too.

I had wanted to make a mini quilt for the bed and found these delicate fabric samples at Goodwill, and cut them into small squares.

Thinking a crazy quilt was in order, I began sewing. I took this project with me on a road trip and probably worked on it for 4-5 hours. After that time I concluded that it was one hot mess and looked like poop on a stick, so I abandoned it.

Lucky for me, I came across some heavy duty gold fabric with a lovely sheen for the bedspread and some light-weight sheer fabric for the windows. This will look SO much better. Guess I need to figure out a bed now!

Not sure if I have mentioned this yet, but everything that goes into this house (other than things like paint, glue, etc.) will either be found at the Goodwill/antique malls, created by myself or someone else. Nothing will be contemporary store bought items. Just found this dresser at the craziest estate sale I have ever been to in my life! This Daytonian woman had owned two costume shops downtown and collected items for a good portion of her now 90 years on this planet. The contents had been kept in this multi-roomed building downtown and recently opened to the public for a weekend of sales. Anything and everything you could think of could be found at this place, and I attended on the last day! I can only imagine the thousands of treasures that left before I arrived. I found several vintage hats and some dresses. I had hoped to find some more items for the house, but this was it. Still, a grand find!
