Baset : Studio Images

This painting is 10"x16". Baset (also spelled Baast, Ubaste, and Bastet) was a goddess in ancient Egyptian religion, worshiped as early as the Second Dynasty (2890 BC). From the 3rd millennium BC, when Bast begins to appear in our records, she is depicted as either a fierce lioness or a woman with the head of a lioness.
