This painting is about making bold choices. When you get a tattoo, or ink, it is a decision that changes you physically and reflects your personality. The main figure balances an old-fashioned inkwell on her boot while animated ostrich feather quills draw tattoos across her body. Her posture is dynamic, yet she is calm. The figure in the background represents the past, timid and plain. The color palette is minimal, but vibrant. In the background it is low contrast and monochromatic. This painting was created in celebration of my decision to leave my job to pursue my art career. In reality, I am not this calm about the decision, but glad I made it!
